SIDC 9th Islamic Markets Programme, 11-14 August 2014, Securities Commission Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur
The 9th Islamic Markets Programme (IMP) took place from 11-14 August 2014 in Kuala Lumpur. Themed "Strengthening the Wellbeing of Societies", the annual programme was designed to cater to a wide audience of both experienced practitioners and new entrants into the world of Islamic finance.
ASIC Annual Forum 2014 Sydney, 24-25 March 2014
The ASIC Annual Forum 2014 was held in Sydney at the Hilton Sydney on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 March 2014.
The theme for the Forum was "Regulating for real people, markets and globalisation". The Forum considered the need to regulate for real people by examining ideas like behavioural economics and investor decisions. The Forum aimed to influence the agenda both domestically and globally for key developments in financial regulation.
Speakers included Martin Wheatley, Chief Executive of the Financial Conduct Authority UK; Ashley Alder, Chief Executive Officer of the Securities and Futures Commission, Hong Kong and via videoconference link from Washington, Mary Jo White, Chair of the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
