IOSCO Asia Pacific Hub Webinar on Operational Resilience: Lessons for Regulators from CrowdStrike Outage, 28 November 2024

The IOSCO Asia Pacific Hub is organizing a webinar on Operational Resilience: Lessons for Regulators from CrowdStrike Outage between 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM (Kuala Lumpur) on 28 November 2024. The webinar aims to examine the implications of the recent CrowdStrike outage for Business Continuity Plans and Operational Resilience, particularly with respect to third-party service providers. It will explore lessons learned from the incidents and discuss best practices for managing such scenarios, including current regulatory approaches and further regulatory considerations. 8th IOSCO-PIFS-Harvard Law School Global Certificate Program for Regulators of Securities Markets – Phase II, Cambridge (MA), US, 9-13 December 2024

IOSCO and the Program on International Financial Systems and Harvard Law School (PIFS-HLS) jointly developed this two-phase program to offer IOSCO members an executive education program that is exclusively tailored for regulators of securities markets. Attendees have up to three years to complete both phases of the Global Certificate Program. Successful attendees will be awarded a joint certificate of participation issued by IOSCO and PIFS-Harvard Law School. Also, IOSCO members may attend any part of the program on a non-certificate basis. This year marks the 8th edition of the program which was inaugurated in 2016.

Phase I, hosted by IOSCO, consists of the following components: online learning materials and a one week-long in-person module on regulation and compliance. The in-person module will be conducted at IOSCO´s premises in Madrid (Spain) from 24-28 June 2024 and will cover the fundamentals and intricacies of securities regulation and compliance and related current critical issues. These sessions will be delivered primarily by current or former securities regulators.
Phase II, hosted by PIFS-HLS, consists of a one week-long in-person module that will be conducted on campus at the Harvard Law School in Cambridge (Massachusetts, US) from 9-13 December 2024 (TBC). This one week-long session will examine current and future regulatory challenges and emerging issues and will be delivered by leading academics, securities regulators and public policy makers.

While any IOSCO member employee may attend the program, it is specifically designed for regulatory staff with strong leadership potential and approximately five to seven years of regulatory experience.

IOSCO-IFRSF Capacity Building Program on Sustainable Finance: Disclosure Requirements for Corporate Issuers, Technical Training Program, Budapest, Hungary, 28-29 January 2025

IOSCO has developed a capacity building program to support an efficient implementation of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards. The program is exclusively tailored for securities regulators that are members of IOSCO. As part of this capacity building program, IOSCO, together with the IFRS Foundation, is organizing a two-day technical training workshop for IOSCO members from European growth an emerging markets, hosted by the Central Bank of Hungary in Budapest, Hungary, on 28-29 January 2025.
