Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Executive Assistant to support the Deputy Secretary General (DSG). This position plays a pivotal role in facilitating the smooth execution of the DSG’s professional responsibilities. The successful candidate will ensure effective coordination of key activities and contribute to the DSG’s success through exceptional organizational, communication, and administrative skills.
Key Responsibilities
Calendar and Meeting Management
- Maintain and regularly update the shared Outlook calendar with details of staff meetings, travel schedules, and significant commitments for the DSG.
Communication and Coordination
- Organize and coordinate meetings, conference calls, and video conferences with IOSCO members, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Act as a liaison between the DSG and staff, ensuring seamless communication and timely updates related to internal and external engagements.
- Facilitate the preparation of briefings, agendas, and meeting materials.
Travel Management
- Plan and organize all aspects of the DSG’s travel, including itineraries, flights, accommodations, transfers, and visa applications.
- Prepare and ensure the timely submission of accurate travel expense reports in collaboration with the Travel Officer.
- Handle registrations for external events and conferences, ensuring all documentation is in order for international engagements.
Administrative Support
- Any other responsibilities that may be assigned by the DSG from time to time.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or professional degree in a relevant field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant, or similar administrative role in a high-level, fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly Spanish, is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with online collaboration tools.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.

Job Description
The IOSCO General Secretariat is seeking to recruit a Head of Markets at Senior Policy Advisor level, to support the work of the Standards Development Division (SDD). This role will play a pivotal part in leading the Markets team, which integrates, amongst other things, IOSCO’s policy work on secondary markets, issuer accounting, auditing, derivatives, commodities. The successful candidate will work closely with IOSCO’s policy committees, other international bodies, and stakeholders in the regulatory and financial sectors.
The SDD integrates the policy work of the IOSCO Board’s eight Policy Committees, the Financial Stability Engagement Group, the Fintech Task Force, the Sustainable Finance Task Force, the Retail Investor Coordination Group, the Committee on Emerging Risks (CER), and the Affiliate Members Consultative Committee amongst other things.1
The Markets team within the SDD covers policy work across several key areas, amongst other things:
- Issuer Accounting, Auditing and Disclosure (IOSCO Committee 1, the Monitoring Board of the IFRS Foundation, and the Monitoring Group);
- Secondary Markets (IOSCO Committee 2);
- Derivatives and Commodities (IOSCO Committee 7);
It will also include close interactions with IOSCO’s post-trading agenda with the CPMI and BCBS. The specific projects the Head of Markets role will be responsible for may however change over time, in line with the organization’s demands.
The successful candidate will report to the Director of Standards Development and will be responsible for the daily supervision and coordination of all staff and activities related to markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Markets team, consisting of 3-4 policy advisors, overseeing daily operations, workflow allocation, and delivery of high-quality, well-project-managed work (e.g., document drafting, project management, consultations, roundtables, policy initiatives).
- Supervise and support the work of relevant IOSCO committees and work streams.
- Coordinate the presentation of the work from those policy committees to the IOSCO Board, ensuring appropriate discussion and effective implementation of decisions.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing IOSCO in relevant events and fora.
- Monitor, project manage, and support the preparation and evolution of, and contribute to, policy initiatives.
- Engage with international bodies (e.g., Financial Stability Board, OECD, IFRS Foundation) and contribute to IOSCO’s role in global financial regulatory discussions.
- Provide strategic advice and support to the IOSCO leadership, committee/task force chairs, and the Director of Standards Development, in preparing briefing notes, reports, and meeting materials.
- Perform any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time by the Director of Standards Development, Deputy Secretary General, or Secretary General.
Relevant Experience
To be considered eligible, candidates must satisfy the criteria listed below:
a. Essential
- A completed university degree in a relevant field, such as finance, economics, law, or public policy, ideally with a master’s degree.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in financial markets, regulation, or policy development.
- Proven team management experience, with a demonstrated ability to effectively lead and coordinate teams, manage complex projects, and ensure successful outcomes.
- Exceptional analytical skills, along with strong written and verbal communication abilities in English.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships and to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, delivering high-quality results within tight deadlines.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multicultural and international setting.
- Microsoft 365 Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams. Advanced skills in creating professional reports, policy briefs, presentations, and managing communications.
- SharePoint: Experience managing shared content, documents, and reports in a secure and collaborative environment.
b. Desirable
- Experience working within international policy-making processes or regulatory frameworks.
- Knowledge of primary and secondary market functioning, derivatives markets, and/or post-trade activities.
- Technical competency in policy development, preferably with experience in financial market regulation.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in dynamic environments, with a proven track record of adapting to new challenges and driving success in evolving circumstances.
